Does AccessBinder make my store ADA-compliant?
No tool can guarantee legal compliance, and any tool that claims otherwise is misleading you. AccessBinder documents your accessibility audit effort. Courts and regulators consistently recognize documented, good-faith efforts as a meaningful part of a defense — but there is no guaranteed protection. Use AccessBinder as part of a broader accessibility program, not as a substitute for one.
How is this different from an accessibility overlay?
Overlays attempt to auto-fix accessibility issues with a JavaScript widget injected into your storefront. AccessBinder does not modify your storefront at all. It audits and generates dated, fingerprinted PDF reports. The evidence you accumulate — dated, hashed, immutable — is what matters legally.
What is axe-core?
axe-core is an open-source accessibility testing engine developed by Deque Systems. It's used by Microsoft Accessibility Insights, GitHub, Google Lighthouse, and the BBC. It automatically detects roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues. AccessBinder uses it to generate consistent, reproducible audit results.
Does AccessBinder store customer data?
No. AccessBinder crawls only publicly accessible pages of your storefront — the same pages any visitor sees. No customer data, order data, or personal information is collected or processed by AccessBinder.
What is the European Accessibility Act (EAA)?
The EAA is an EU directive that entered into force in June 2025, requiring digital products and services sold to EU consumers to meet accessibility standards. UK merchants selling to EU customers, and AU merchants under the Disability Discrimination Act, face similar obligations.
What does "SHA-256 sealed PDF" mean concretely?
When AccessBinder generates a PDF, it computes a SHA-256 cryptographic hash of the file and stores it in the database. If any byte of the PDF is altered later, the hash no longer matches — tampering is detectable. This is how legal teams demonstrate the report existed in a specific form on a specific date.
